PoE Out + Data Port

Data Port

10/100 Ethernet port supports data only. Used to connect a client device to the LAN.

PoE In + Data Port

10/100 Ethernet port supports data and PoE. Connect this port to a UniFi PoE Switch that is connected to your LAN and DHCP server.

Hardware Installation

An electrical wall box should be pre-installed with an Ethernet cable running from the box to a UniFi Switch with PoE.

  1.
  2. Note: If the wall box does not have enough room to accommodate the UAP-IW without straining the Ethernet connection, replace the wall box with an open-end or deeper box.

  3.
  4. Note: Adjust the screws to ensure the mounting plate is flush with the wall for proper fitting of the Cover Plate. Do not over-tighten or rely on the force of the screws to pull the UAP-IW into the wall box.

    Optional

If needed, use the optional Rubber Feet to fill in some of the space between the UAP-IW and the threaded mount holes of the wall box.

  5. Note: If you are using your own cover plate, secure it with two screws.
